Washington (NBp) - President Clinton today announced a new tax
cut package that will save taxpayers an estimated $98,000 this
year, and could reduce the tax burden by millions in the coming
years.

"Let me stress that this is a comprehensive tax cut," announced
Clinton. "It affects every type of tax that the government has
levied. I will grant that this particular tax cut program does not
cover as many Americans as other programs that have been proposed.
However, this cut does have a dramatic impact on the Americans
that it affects."
The unusual bill is the first of its kind. It is a 100% tax cut
that names specific social security numbers as the group of
people impacted by the cut. NBp research has shown that these
social security numbers match the ones assigned to the Clintons.
"The lawmakers of this country have a duty to uphold," said Clinton.
"They must strive to ensure that people do not have too much of a tax
burden. This includes all Americans, no matter how high the
income or the station. The tax situation is something that we'll
work on, one taxpayer at a time."
Members of Congress have criticized Clinton's proposal as not
being broad enough for the American people to accept. Some members
have proposed a tax cut that would cover about 1,500 people which,
coincidentally, is approximately the number of people in Congress and
their immediate families.
