Whistler's Mother, Montana (NBp) - Archaeologist Emma Girelli
was at area resident Joe Lippey's house for dinner yesterday and
casually commented that the house looked and smelled like a cave.
Then, she realized that the house was, in fact, built into the
rock on a hill. As she looked around the house, she opened the
refrigerator and discovered some leftover 68 million year old
stegosaurus.
"I had always thought that the refrigerator was put in by one of
the previous owners," explained Lippey. "Now that you mention it
though, it does look more like a box carved out of the rock than
a normal fridge. I generally don't have much more in the fridge
than some milk or eggs."
Girelli took a small sample from the stegosaurus specimen,
the first evidence of dinosaurs not in fossil form, and sent it off
to a lab for analysis. Then, Girelli and Lippey proceeded to finish
off the leftovers.
"As I suspected," Girelli began, "it was quite salty. Even back
then they used salt to preserve their food."
"Everybody says it, but it really did taste like chicken," said
Lippey.
The lab reports that the sample was not large enough to analyze fully
and that it probably would have been better if they had not eaten the
rest. A disappointed Girelli has announced plans to tour other Montana
refrigerators.
