It's hard to believe that 1999 was the first year for News Byproducts. We beat the traditional press with more than 120 hard hitting stories. We provided the news when it counts, whereas most of the press have still not run much of the news we have uncovered. Here is a look back at some of the most notable events of the year.

May

May started off with a bang, as Microsoft bought AT&T to form the new megacompany MT&T. Electronics giant Sony introduced the BurgerMan, the first electronic burger. Tragedy struck on May 18th, when a small village was overrun by wild animals. That same day, former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to take over as host of Wheel of Fortune. Self-help speaker Yoda told the world that Fear leads to suffering.

June

NATO sent a peacekeeping force to Wichita, Kansas to relieve tensions in the area. The Fribozz Mini You Personal Clone was the first practical application of cloning technology. 1999's Take Your Llama To Work Day was a big hit.

July

The International Space Station received its first delivery from UPS. A tobacco industry study showed that cigarette smoking encourages happiness and cell growth. Another volley in the long distances wars came from The Ten Line which announced 10 cents per minute (*) with no hassles (**). Fribozz 1-900-STRANGER service offers someone to talk to, 24 hours a day. The US declared that water is a drug on July 15th. The Nerf ICBM made war fun.

August

The biggest showbiz success of the summer, The Blair Witch Project put studios in a rush to release cheap movies. Fribozz MegaImplants offer you the physique you've always wanted. President Clinton announced the Taters for Tots program, the most successful potato program to date. Information about the latest James Bond movie leaked on August 10th, and NBp got the scoop. Brady Carlson's first article from Green Lake was about the Y2K bug. Fribozz introduced the eDriver's License Test saving drivers hundreds of hours at the DMV.

September

Brady reports on Green Lake's campaign to elect McKinley in 2000. NBp discovered the real truth at Waco. A 17-year old announced his room was off-limits and had his sovereignty protected by a multinational UN force. In science, a possible connection between bees and bee stings was discovered.

October

Foomaster Furniture's sale of a lifetime was heralded in a new commercial. Telecomm merger mania continued as MCI WorldCom announced plans to buy the FCC. NBp published the only movie review you'll ever need. Just as the world human population passed the 6 billion mark, the world ant population passed the 1 quadrillion mark. Brady reports on the Practical Side of Psychics. Martha Stewart announced plans to grow her empire even more. For the first time in history, scientists were able to pack 16.2 million doohickies on a single frammis. The computer industry helped spawn more than 500,000 acronyms in just 20 years.

November

The venerable Encyclopaedia Britannica added fictional narrators to make the books a little more interesting. NBp introduced the first film in the Science Series. This one tells viewers about the Internet. Republican presidential candidate George W. Bush gave his first non-sequitur speech. A new game show that sought to topple Regis Philbin was introduced.

December

The World Trade Organization removed limits on Pokemon cards. Vice President Al Gore announced that he was the first human being. Brady reported on the court's ruling on toothpaste eating. Republican candidates adopted a new debate format to spice up previously boring debates. The US announced plans to return the English Channel in a fit of generousity.
