Los Angeles (NBp) - Los Angeles city officials were struggling
today to explain why their city has not achieved complete Y2K
compliance, even this close to the millenium. In fact, NBp has
learned that non-Y2K compliant media has been produced as recently
as this month.
"I assure you that all critical systems in LA have achieved
compliance," announced LA Assistant Chief Deputy's Assistant
Renny Tropic. Tropic was struck speechless when asked about
the photographic evidence we present here:

The phrases "Benny wuz here 12-3-99" and
"Benny + Tinny '99" both fail Y2K Compliance tests.
Graffiti, which is an integral part of any major city, has been
found to be non-compliant in many places. We asked Y2K expert Sy
Greblick about the graffiti pictured above.
"Clearly, that graffiti is not compliant, and there will definitely
be problems after the changeover to the year 2000. For example,
how can someone looking at that writing know if it was written in
1899, 1999 or even 2099? What if that door is actually in a timewarp
and good 'ole Benny wrote that there in 2199 but it shows up now?"
NBp was unable to locate Benny for a comment on the mishap.
City officials say that they will do their best to ensure that Benny
either achieves compliance or does not paint any more graffiti
in LA.
