Hollywood (NBp) - A new game show, Who Can Get
This Right? hopes to cash in on the game show mania that
is sweeping the nation. The shows producers believe that the
new show's format is the most unique to come along since the
creation of the game show itself.
"We wanted to create a game show that had really easy
questions, but was very difficult," explained producer T.
Elroy Buchanan. "Everyone said to us, 'that's crazy! how can
you make a show that is easy and hard at the same time?' But,
we did!"
Prospective contestants can take a three question telephone
quiz. Of those that pass the quiz, ten are selected at random
to receive electroshock treatments at a local clinic.
Ten others are selected at random to appear on the show.
The ten contestants that make it to the show are asked
a question, the possible answers to which are written on
targets on the wall. The first one to hit the correct answer
with a slingshot gets into the "Cool Chair" and a shot at
winning a prize of unknown value.
Once in the Cool Chair, the lucky participant has to answer
12 easy questions in order to win the grand prize. The 12
questions are given in a random order, as are the answers.
Therefore making the easy questions rather difficult. Here
are some samples from a recent show:
Two plus two equals
- Sears
- JC Penney
- Hudson's
- Service Merchandise
The eggs typically used when cooking in America
come from
- The moon
- The sun
- Jupiter
- Mars
The contestant is only allowed to get two answers wrong.
All contestants receive a free subscription to
New Neanderthal magazine as a parting gift.
Though the show has not yet debuted on TV, it is already
generating a lot of buzz in Hollywood (and a lot of "buzz"
at the local electroshock centers).
